I’ve been in and out of therapy for half of my life. Typically, it’s been in stints of six months to a year. This most recent bout will be three years in March. After my 9-year relationship ended, I needed help picking up the pieces and transitioning to my new life. I’ve grown leaps and bounds and my therapist and I have seen tremendous progress. Prior to that, I got low-cost counseling at the local college for students who needed to complete clinic hours. Initially, it was $15 per session but because I was on food stamps at that time, they lowered the price to $5 per session.
