A lot of people have complicated relationships with food and money and it is something that definitely affects people’s mental health and finances. For some people this can cause disordered eating, such as anorexia, bulimia, body dysmorphia, and more.
Eating disorders are psychological conditions and affect all kinds of people but are more commonly diagnosed in women. Find out how someone may get into this disordered state and its connection to money behaviors as I chat with Rachelle Heinemann.
Rachelle is a licensed mental health counselor and trained as a psychoanalytic psychotherapist. She specializes in the treatment of eating disorders and emotional eating as well as exercise addiction and body image struggles.
In this episode, Rachelle talks about diet culture, eating disorders and the effects on mental health. Learn when and how to seek help if you’re suffering from eating disorders. Discover what to do to eliminate the triggering effects of social media and how to love and/or accept our body.
