Money & Mania: How Sinclair Ceasar is Fighting The Stigma

by Melanie

Speaking about mental health is so taboo, especially when you grow up in a black Christian background. But that is one barrier that Sinclair Ceasar has been able to overcome. Sinclair is a Baltimore-based mental health speaker and writer. He became known as a mental health warrior because of a viral tweet that he posted and connected with Melanie, host of The Mental Health and Wealth Show. Today, he helps crush mental illness and stigmas through storytelling.

In this episode, Sinclar shares his journey of acceptance and battling stigmas after being diagnosed with bipolar disorder. He also describes how it began and what it’s like when he was at the height of his mania. Furthermore, he told how their financial lives changed, what it’s like being a stay at home dad and what helps him manage his mental illness as well as his finances.

“People were telling me like, dude I think you have bipolar disorder, and when I heard that I was so offended by it because I have stigmatized it myself .”

– Sinclair Ceasar

“If I share my pain, it doesn’t matter who’s reading it, it’s gonna hit somebody and impact their life, so I need to keep doing this thing because it’s necessary.”

– Sinclair Ceasar
