Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder or ADHD is diagnosed primarily in little boys. But did you know that girls may also suffer from ADHD? Unfortunately, they don’t get diagnosed as a child and as a result they are often misdiagnosed and it goes untreated for years.

Learn more about ADHD in women as I chat with Diann Wingert who is a mindset and productivity coach for female entrepreneurs with ADHD traits. Her mission is to mentor women who are driven but distracted to create an ADHD-friendly business and lifestyle.

Diann shares how she was diagnosed with ADHD just five years ago and how medication helped her. She discussed why ADHD is not diagnosed in little girls and how it presents and interferes with a woman’s life.

There are common myths/misunderstandings around ADHD and Diann answers them. We also talked about money issues and how to stop impulsive spending.

ADHD affects different people in different ways and often comes with other mental conditions. If you want to be diagnosed, find out what are the symptoms and resources where you can get help and support.

“I was very proud of the fact that I passed for normal without realizing how much damage I was actually doing to myself in the process. I did not get diagnosed myself (with ADHD) until five years ago.”  – Diann Wingert

“This is a typical ADHD trait. I’m not ashamed of this anymore, in fact I’m drawing attention to it right now. But for many years I was deeply ashamed of my memory lapses. Now I just call it swiss cheese brain.”  – Diann Wingert

“Listen to the experts, listen to people sharing personal stories. The more you start to hear other people who are like-minded, like-brained, you realize; I’m not alone, I’m not broken either.”  – Diann Wingert

“Therapy is meant for healing. Coaching is more for growth. You need to heal before you can grow.”  – Diann Wingert
