Drug abuse can have devastating impacts on your life. You might think of it as an escape, but in fact, it can lead to a life full of lies. It also has a huge affect on your mental and financial health. Bill experienced these consequences as he suffered from drug abuse and ultimately served time in prison.

Bill is the creator of the blog Wealth Well Done. He was 21 years old when he was sentenced to prison for ten years. He got out in August 2012 and as he was trying to rebuild his life, he fell in love with the philosophy surrounding money, success, happiness and purpose.

In this episode, Bill shares his story of drug abuse and how it led to his decade-long prison sentence. He discussed how it affected his mental and financial health.

While in prison, Bill was able to find his identity without drugs and start to build the courage and  confidence to pursue a life of freedom that he wants.

When he got out, he only had three goals in mind and from there he shares how he was able to rebuild his life, pursue happiness and financial independence and eventually build wealth.

He also gives advice to those people suffering from alcohol or drug abuse. He lists down actionable steps on how to turn life around and achieve what they want in life. Listen to find out his incredible story.

“Part of growth and evolution as a person is to fail and figure how you pick yourself back up from failure.” – Bill

“Money was never about things to me. It was always about how can I try to be happier. And money freed everything up. Choices, mindsets, so I could really seek for what made me the most happy in life.” – Bill

“I just knew like, the type of human being I wanted to be. And I knew if I could become that, then everything else would kind of just take care of itself.” – Bill

“I’ve had two decades to make all this change in my life. Don’t expect it to happen overnight. But when you make 10-year goals like, one day at a time, then you can get there.” – Bill
