Connecting NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) with Mindfulness: An Interview with Tonikia Steans

by Melanie

In this week’s episode, I chat with mindfulness coach and life enthusiast Tonikia Steans about mindfulness, NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming), infidelity, being an adoptive mom and so much more.

Tonikia connects some aspects of NLP with mindfulness to help her clients fulfill their life purpose. Please note that she discusses her religious faith as part of her unique perspective. At the Mental Health and Wealth Show, we believe that we can learn from a variety of different perspectives even when they don’t match our own.

“In order to have a full life you have to have a full mind. And you’ve got to get your mind mentally prepared because things happen.”  – Tonikia Steans

“We internalize everything and that’s where our diseases come from. That’s where our anger, depression, and anxiety come from.” – Tonikia Steans

“If you continue to try to control everything, those things are going to start to control you. It will overtake your life and soon you will fall apart. And so, control what you can and that’s your thoughts, your reactions and your responses.” – Tonikia Steans

Living is really being a vessel for experiences, good and bad.” – Melanie Lockert
